My Approach to
Treating Patients
I
believe that well-informed patients make the best choices about
their treatment. For this reason, I educate my patients about
their treatment options. I explain each step of the diagnostic
process and treatment plan in language that is easy to
understand. I present a matter of fact view point on what
results can be expected, as well as the risks, benefits and
alternatives to any treatment offered. My approach is to tailor
treatment plans to the expectations and lifestyle needs of my
patients.
I believe
that many orthopedic problems can be managed conservatively
through such treatments as physical therapy, medications and
injections. But when surgery is necessary, rest assured that I
use state-of-the-art techniques. My goal is to offer you the
highest quality orthopedic care in the Bay Area.
Although I
consider myself a general orthopedist, my specialty is treatment
of the shoulder and knee. My practice encompasses a vast range
of patients, from the athletes of all ages and levels, to
patients with degenerative joint conditions needing joint
replacement surgery of the knee or shoulder. My expertise is in
arthroscopic techniques, rotator cuff repairs, knee ligament
reconstruction and joint replacement surgery. I was one of the
first surgeons in the Bay Area to utilize minimally invasive
total replacement surgery for the knee and I have found that
this state-of-the-art treatment allows me to help my patients
most effectively return to their optimal level of function.
Most simply
stated, my goal is to offer my patients the same level of care
that I would expect my own family to receive.
